if it's a genuinely good movie, I can deal with the horror, but if it's only good because it's scary, then I can't

unsurprisingly, my favorite horror movies aren't really scary at all, and can barely count as horror

Yeah, jumpscares have a time and place, but if they're overused they lose their impact and feel cheap

Yeah sadly a lot of mainstream modern horror relies too heavily on jumpscares

but yeah, I'm horror zako, anyone good with horror will think my favorites are baby stuff

if you haven't seen it, Talk to Me was a good recent horror movie

and I just saw Midnight with the Devil which was a lot of fun too
