Kanto is just Poison region Kanto introduced quite some rare types in poison/water type (only 3 lines as of now) and also the only poison/flying type in Zubat line? (no other pokemon have same type)

look into diatomaceous earth - you can get it food grade and it's pet safe. it's great for dealing with pests!
