Sid I hope youve recovered that drive already

not yet, but i already did some diagnostics on the drive, and basically, i think its just not getting enough power in the case, so im waiting till i will be putting in the SSD

and im just going to see if installing the HDD internally will give it enough power and if thats just all itll need for the fix

the platter looks good and the read/write head looks good too

is the power supply sufficient at giving power to all components? or maybe the power cables connecting to the HDD is causing the power issue?

i thin the power cable, and the dock board for the HDD itself cant provide enough power (the dock board have multi usb ports that can power other things using the port

but for now it seems like you might be able to recover it...

i also read that other people with that same external drive was having the same problem, and others have just ripped out the drive and install it internally and it works no problems after that

could also try to unplug some stuff that might affect the HDDs power

and some ripped out the drive and put it in those SATA docks and it works no problem after that also

yea, i was going to do that next, in the next few days before the SSD install

although, if i test it without other things plugged to the usbs, and it works, then its kind of pointless to even not installing the drive internally

since that was the point to why i bought that external HD in the first place, for that feature
