well for Snell's Law... do you ever wonder why whenever you put your hand in the pool it suddenly looks bigger? its because light travels differently going through the water, bending it in the process

Snell's Law basically explains the relationship between the angle at which light hits the surface and the refraction of light going through it

I recall something about things looking bent in water...

similar thing also happens when shining a light onto a gem as well
